Not every fairytale has a happy ending.
This is the story of a princess who became a villain.

A Father’s Betrayal. A Kingdom with a Black Secret. A Princess Slowly Unraveling.

As Princess of Wonderland Palace and the future Queen of Hearts, Dinah’s days are an endless monotony of tea, tarts, and a stream of vicious humiliations at the hands of her father, the King of Hearts. The only highlight of her days is visiting Wardley, her childhood best friend, the future Knave of Hearts — and the love of her life.

When an enchanting stranger arrives at the Palace, Dinah watches as everything she’s ever wanted threatens to crumble. As her coronation date approaches, a series of suspicious and bloody events suggests that something sinister stirs in the whimsical halls of Wonderland. It’s up to Dinah to unravel the mysteries that lurk both inside and under the Palace before she loses her own head to a clever and faceless foe.

Part epic fantasy, part twisted fairy tale, this dazzling saga will have readers shivering as Dinahs furious nature sweeps Wonderland up in the maelstrom of her wrath.

Familiar characters such as Cheshire, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter make their appearance, enchanting readers with this new, dark take on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The story follows Dinah, the heir to the Wonderland throne, she has grown up underthe reign her brutal father, and with a brother who's "Mad" but has all her love and devotion, a childhood bestfriend that she has feelings for, and a number of interesting characters who provide support or opposition in various ways as she strides towards the day she will become queen.

Alice in Wonderland has never been my favorite book or movie (I’ve always been a little bit scared of clowns so I’m kind of scared of Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter portrayal)

Dinah is a teenage future Queen of Hearts in Wonderlan, please erase any images you may have from the Disney films based on Lewis Carol's work, Wonderland, Dinah doesn't spend all of the book ordering the card soldiers to chop peoples head off but she does have a bit of a temper but in the end she is just a girl that want to be loves and that has great pressure on her.

Dinah is not one of those main characters you love right from the start, you actually dislike her quite a bit at the beginning of the book however as we learn about her past her behavior is explained and you actually realize that considering her upbringing Dinah is grew up pretty well.

I loved all the adaptation of all the secondary characters especially the Mad Hatter as Dinah brother and Cheshire cat as the King’s right hand man.

The only character I had problems with was with Vittiore, Dinah’s half sister, she never really did anything wrong she was just too perfect and sweet that annoyed me.

My only complaint is that I found the plot a bit slow at times that the book lost my attention a few times but other than that I think this is a wonderful retelling.
