Monday Book Recommendations: The Queen of Two Kingdoms Series by Olivia Longueville

Monday is the day I choose what new books I’m going to start reading but I have so many books in my To Read Pile that sometimes it’s hard to choose so I have decided that on Monday mornings I’ll recommend some  of  my favorite books.

I've been following this story since it was being published on Fanfiction.net  since at least 2012 and it still has me as hooked as it did on the day I discovered it. When I found out it was being turned into a series I freaked, seriously everyone needs to reads this.

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends.

Ok this week I went back to school so there wasn't much time or money to  buy books but that being said getting the Glass Sword was definitely a great back to school to myself.

 

Getting Ready for the Semester

Since my semester just started I decided to share some tips that will make school life a lot easier.

I'm super scattered brained  so if I'm not super organized and color code, write everything down I simply forget about it.

1)Print out your class schedule and assign a specific color to every class. 

My school makes us go to the student services offices and sign a copy that says I agree with how my classes are arranged.  

2) Buy all the supplies you need, each person has different needs but make sure that you have the basics: pens, pencils, a notebook and an eraser.

This is actually my favourite part of the whole back to school process.

3) Get a planner exclusively for homework, unless you have superhuman memory you will probably  forget certain details or due dates  that can affect your grades. 

Like I said at the beginning if I don't write it down chances are that I'll forget to do it.

4) Research different note taking and studying methods, in the world of the internet there are many different resources that will help you understand your classes better, wether it's an app for your phone/tablet ora printable you can write on it doesn't matter as long as it helps you learn. 

Studyblrs are great for this, also the amount of motivation I get from these blogs is amazing

5) Make a small care package for your backpack that includes toilet paper, aspirin, tampons, an umbrella and some loose change.

My number one rule for College is to expect the unexpected, these little packages can save your day,

Things I liked:

-E Jun/ June: I really liked seeing how twisted her mind was, the way she was written didn't make her look cartoonish  character she could've easily been.

Things I'm not sure how I feel about:

-Bette: She's a pretty interesting character, she is shown to be the bad girl but it surprised me how many times I found myself relating to her  but reading her chapters stressed me out. I guess I'm going to have to wait till the next book to make my decisión about bette.

.Giselle: Gigi has all the makings of a great main character yet it was her chapters that annoyed me the most. I think my issue with her was her naiveté, she is what 16? And you honestly expect me to believe that she has never encountered a mean person in her life.  The thing is that at times I felt like I was reading an 8 year olds daily life instead of a teenager.

Things I didn't like:

Gigi's Parents:  If your child has a heart condition that could kill if her if she does an extraneous activity, why would you let her do Ballet??? I know this is for the stories plot but in real life come on!!
