Publicado por Lina Jiménez en 11:05 2 comentarios

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course e books!

This week after several weeks of not liking any of the books I bought I decided to finish series that I have liked but left incomplete in favor of reading new books but I did get some nes ones. All I can say is that it's a pretty big haul!

The Series I chose to finish was The Cique by Lisi Harrison, I liked the first few books so I went and bought the rest:

After getting the whole main series I also bought The Clique Summer Collection

Now it's time for some new arrivals:

Feature and Follow (14)

Publicado por Lina Jiménez en 9:21 3 comentarios

The Feature &and and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts,  of Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
This weeks Feature:

Recommend some of your favorite back-list books - books that are at least a few years old (I’m thinking 5-10 years old rather than classics)

Lovely topic but it put me between  a rock and a hard place since there are many books I would love to recommend, these are some of my favorites:

1) The Accursed Kings series by Maurice Druon

It's not young adult but it is one of my favorite historical fiction series. It centers around King Philip IV of France and his sons.

2) The IT Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar

A spin off from the Gossip Girl books that centers around the character Jenny Humphrey. I actually enjoyed this series  more than the original one.
3) Ink Heart by Cornelia Funke

A book that has two characters with ana mazing power any book worm would love to have?? This is mone of my all time favorites.

I had a longer list but after some thinkng these were my finalist since they are pretty different from each other.

Waiting on Wednesday (19)

Publicado por Lina Jiménez en 8:31 2 comentarios

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week the book I'm waiting on is:

Title: Raging Star
Series: Dust Lands #3
Author: Moira Young
Pages: 448
Expected Publication: May 13th 2014
Publisher Margaret K. McElderry Books

Saba is ready to seize her destiny and defeat DeMalo and the Tonton...until she meets him and he confounds all her expectations with his seductive vision of a healed earth, a New Eden. DeMalo wants Saba to join him, in life and work, to create and build a healthy, stable, sustainable world…for the chosen few. The few who can pay.

Jack’s choice is clear: to fight DeMalo and try to stop New Eden. Still uncertain, her connection with DeMalo a secret, Saba commits herself to the fight. Joined by her brother, Lugh, anxious for the land in New Eden, Saba leads an inexperienced guerilla band against the powerfully charismatic DeMalo, in command of his settlers and the Tonton militia. What chance do they have? Saba must act. And be willing to pay the price.

This is one of my favorite series ever, I read the first two books in one day but when I looked up the third book I was horrified to see that Moira Young pulled a Cassandra Clare and has made me wait nearly two years for the final book in her series.

2) J. R. R. Tolkein

I have The Hobbit but I have yet to read it; I haven't even seen any of the movies based on his work.

3) David Levithan

I know he is a very popular contemporary ya author but I have no desire to read books that wil potentially depress me I learned my lesson with John Green.

4)Gayle Forman

Read the author above to know why I haven't read any of her books.

5)Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the French Kiss seems to be her most popular novel but after reading the blurb I didn't feel like reading it.

I finally caved  in and bought Thes Broken Stars but it'd gathering dust inmy room.

These are the authos I can think about right now but I'm sure there are many more.
