Top Ten Blogging/Reading Resolutions

1.Review more books: I read many books last year but I hardly wrote any reviews. For 2014 I want to write at least one review every week.

2. Read more classics: Most of the books I read are YA and I hope this year I will branch out more.

3.Interact more: I follow many blogs but I hardly ever interact with other blogers.

4.Not getting so upset if I don't finish a book: I wasted some time finishing books that I wasn'y enjoying when I should have just left them and started a new book.

5.Go back to the Gym: I broke my ankle last year so I had to stay still for a few months and my doctor just gave me permision to go back to the gym

6.Save money: I want to go on a trip to Europe but I want to pay dor it myself with no help from anyone.

7.Be more forgiving.

8.Control my compulsive shopping.

9.Not push people away

Review: Savor by Kate Evangelista

I’m Dakota Collins, a tough talking, eye patch wearing, workaholic photography student. Why am I important? Well, maybe because I get to spend an entire month with Vicious, only the sickest indie rock band out there.

You see, I needed a subject for my Spring Showcase introspective in order to graduate. During a chance encounter at a club I’d been sent to cover for the Daily Gossip, our ironically named college paper, the features writer I usually teamed up with introduced me to the band—by accident, I might add. It involved a run in with a scary, bald bodyguard. Anyway, long story short, I signed a contract to take pictures of Vicious.

I should have known their handsome yet way too serious for his own good bassist, Luka Visraya, wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself. He’s gorgeous and all, but the way he smiles spelled trouble with a capital L. I’m in for a long month with him around.

Crazy shit happens and then some. So, if you want the skinny on Vicious and the events revolving around my stay at Lunar Manor, read my story.

Savor uses many of the characters from her YA novel "Taste" you can read Savor without reading Taste first but I would recommend you do it so you can understand the character better.

Dakota Collins is a new character, she and I had a very complicated relationship; there were times I loved her and times I wanted to strangle her; but I think that’s what made her so great for me. She was not a cookie cutter wallflower I liked that she fought for what she wanted; I also liked how passionate Dakota was about photography. Like everyone she had great moments and not so great one but I know that I can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

For our not so hero we have Luka, a bad boy band member who is rumored to have had a breakdown. I liked Luka a lot more in “Taste” than I did in “Savor” I get that he wasn’t in a great place in his life but I didn’t like him very much.

The plot was very interesting although I found myself bored at times still I can’t wait for the second book especially after the way “Savor” ended.

Book Review: Haunting Joy by Lena Goldfinch

Haunting Joy is a paranormal YA book that tells us the story 
Will Joy accept this ghostly challenge to be "more"? And just how far will she go to uncover the truth?

Haunting Joy is a paranormal YA book that tells us the story of a young girl that is given a beautiful white dress but she starts to be haunted by the previous owner of the dress.

Pros:

-The concept: I love when stories have haunted personal items.

-The romance: It was not rushed; Nick and Joy are taking their time no need to say I love you in the first book.

-How the author portrayed the characters feelings especially the negative ones was very realistic.

Cons:

-The Haunting: it didn’t feel real; one second Joy had on the dress felt something strange and she just decided the dress was haunted.

-Many characters were useless to the story.

-The Novel lost my interest several times

Overall

This book felt more like a novella than an actual novel; it dragged for me most of the time. Not my favorite book but I would recommended to people who are looking for a fast and easy read

2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

We all have those books. We buy them, win them, they're gifted to us.. Then we put them up on a bookshelf and there they stay, collecting dust, waiting for the time when we'll finally decide to pick them up...

This Year I decided to participate in the 2014 TBR Challenge hosted by Bookish where you choose books that have been in your to read list for a while, according to my Goodreads profile I have 228 books, about half of them have been in my shelf for over a year so hopefully this challenge will help me get my pile down.

The level I chose for this challenge is married with  children which mean I'll try to read more then 50 books.
